How Do You Define Success?

Writing by Benton Pena on Sunday, 27 of January , 2008 at 9:24 pm

Are you successful? Perhaps, if you think you’re not, it’s time to evaluate your thought process. PickTheBrain says that positive thinking is the first recommendation to achieve success. Write down your goals and dreams. Then, take action. Always engage yourself in learning. Be determined and work to achieve your goals. Be analytical. Dissect your mistakes and learn from them. Don’t treat your errors as a blow that will get in the way of becoming extraordinary. Innovate: don’t blend in with everyone else. Be different. Learn to be honest, reliable, and an effective communicator.

Watching Patch Adams Movie - The Poem

Writing by Benton Pena on Monday, 21 of January , 2008 at 3:42 pm

Patch Adams, the movie is great because it says follow your dreams in a way or another, but the poem just touched me - for those that saw the film… It remembered someone, so I want to have this poem in my Blog forever.

The poem used in the movie is by Pablo Neruda. It is Sonnet 17 of Neruda’s 100 Love Sonnets available in English translation by Stephen Tapscott.

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms,
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

I consider myself an SP/PTS (Suppressive Person)

Writing by Benton Pena on Monday, 21 of January , 2008 at 2:08 pm

SP/PTS (Suppressive Person): Anyone that doesn’t like Scientology and/or criticizes it. This guys would call me like that…

I’m not religious, let’s say that. But I consider my self have common sense, and I have been reading and studying science since I was a little kid. I love websites like HowStuffworks.com because they explain how TV works, or Internet… What I mean is that with all the information available now, it’s better to understand things, and sharp your common sense.

But when I see videos of Tom Cruise an American actor and film producer champions Scientology and tells you why Scientologists are better because they’re the ‘only ones that really can help’. I feel amazed of how this guy can says this kind of things.

Read more about Scientology here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology and make your own judgement.

In the meantime laugh out loud:

Revolutionary Air Car Runs On Compressed Air

Writing by Benton Pena on Friday, 11 of January , 2008 at 12:05 pm

This is something! read on…

A French company has developed a revolutionary pollution-free car which runs on nothing but compressed air.

The car can go 200 km on a 1.5 euro fill-up, that’s right 125 miles for $3 with a top speed of 110 km/hr (70 mph) and the cost of the vehicle is expected to be as low as $7000.

India’s Tata Motors, the same one that has developed the recent ‘Nano’ car with the sticker price of just $2,500, has a hand in the project and plan to have the car in production by the end of the year in Europe and India.

Why is most of the world still working on hydrogen and electric fuel cells when we’ve got this?

What side of your brain do you use?

Writing by Benton Pena on Wednesday, 9 of January , 2008 at 3:27 pm

Amazing moving image of a girl spinning round - she changes direction when you start using another side of your brain. Try it with more than one person - crazy how one person sees her change direction while for the other, she keeps going the same way. Can you make her change at will? What does it all mean? People who see the dancer moving clockwise (like me) are right brain dominant and tend to be more risk taking and imaginative.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
  • uses logic
  • detail oriented
  • facts rule
  • words and language
  • present and past
  • math and science
  • can comprehend
  • knowing
  • acknowledges
  • order/pattern
  • perception
  • knows object name
  • reality based
  • forms strategies
  • practical
  • safe
  • uses feeling
  • “big picture” oriented
  • imagination rules
  • symbols and images
  • present and future
  • philosophy & religion
  • can “get it” (i.e. meaning)
  • believes
  • appreciates
  • spatial perception
  • knows object function
  • fantasy based
  • presents possibilities
  • impetuous
  • risk taking

If you see this lady turning in clockwise you are using your right brain.

If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.

Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way. If you try to see it the other way and if you do see, your IQ is above 160 which is almost a genius.

Click the image below to see the girl spinning.

Post your comment if you see the lady spinning in both directions ;)

Motorola outs CPEi 100 WiMAX desktop modem

Writing by Benton Pena on Friday, 4 of January , 2008 at 11:38 am

moto-cpei-100 WiMAX is getting the “plug-and-play” treatment with the new CPEi 100 desktop modem Moto is bringing to CES. The device features a single port for sending the wireless data into your wired network, and naturally operates on the 2.5GHz WiMAX band. CPEi 100 will be available in 2008 from various WiMAX operators, and consumers should be able to set it up all by their lonesomes — which means fewer of those pesky visits from the cable guy.
